Identifying Important Information

Word problems sometimes include extra facts that aren't needed to answer the question — these are called distractors. A key skill is telling relevant information (needed to solve the problem) apart from irrelevant information (not needed).

Find the irrelevant number in a problem, or solve using only the relevant information.
