Negative fractions sit to the left of zero. -1/2 is halfway between -1 and 0. The rules are identical but you count left from zero instead of right.
It falls between -1 and 0. Divide that gap into 4 parts and count 3 from 0 going left. Mark the point at -3/4.
Equivalent Fractions on the Number Line
1/2 and 2/4 and 3/6 all land on exactly the same point. That is the visual proof that they are equivalent.
