Data Distribution

The distribution of a dataset describes its overall shape. Comparing the mean and median tells us whether a distribution is skewed:

• Mean > median → skewed right (longer tail on the right)
• Mean < median → skewed left (longer tail on the left)
• Mean = median → symmetric

Classify a distribution's skew from its mean and median, or identify a tail direction.
